Broadcast Licence Renewed for a Full Seven Year Term
August 31, 2005 - APTN (Aboriginal Peoples Television Network) is pleased to announce the CRTC's (Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission) decision to renew the network's licence for a full seven-year term. The CRTC has also granted APTN an additional subscriber fee increase of $0.10 per month for a total of $0.25 a month.
The Commission renews the broadcasting licence for the satellite-to-cable programming undertaking known as the Aboriginal Peoples Television Network from 1 September 2005 to 31 August 2012. The Commission also approves the licensee's request to increase its wholesale rate by $0.10 to a maximum of $0.25 per subscriber per month.
