This sport scores the highest for participation by Aboriginal athletes across the country. Almost every kid whacked a puck around the ice and often a ball in summer. Dreams about making it to the NHL abound, in this regard Aboriginal kids are no different from the rest of society. Our journey will take us from ice sheets on the reserve, to teams in training and competition, to Native Hockey tournaments. Bryan Trottier, Reggie Leach and Danny Hodgson are all role models for Aboriginal kids and we will talk to one of them. We will absorb the sense of team and camaraderie. (English)
