First Tracks 2010 Call to Entry Rules and Regulations
APTN wants to hear from you! APTN is providing an opportunity for up to 5 emerging Canadian Aboriginal musicians or musical groups to have a music video produced from a song that is featured on a current CD or soon to be released CD. Requests may come from Canadian record companies, record producers, managers or artists. APTN First Tracks supports all genres of music videos in English, French or any Aboriginal language.

Successful projects will be programmed on APTN.

APTN First Tracks provides a contribution towards the production of a music video which will be filmed in the spring/summer of 2010.

APTN will assess applications and make contributions dependent upon financial needs of the video up to a maximum of $20,000. Contributions could be less than $20,000 but will not exceed the maximum.

APTN Programming staff will make its decisions based on the overall quality of your submission, with consideration given to music, lyrics, quality of performance and production, and market potential. Applicants must submit a master of the song (one only song per artist or group) to be considered. Please refer to the application form for a full list of application requirements. Incomplete applications are automatically deemed ineligible.

An emerging artist shall, for the purposes of this program, be defined as having released a maximum of one album/CD prior to the one that the submitted song appears on. Further, the total sales of the previously released CD can not have exceeded 25,000 units.

Videos will be produced by APTN and/or its representatives. Please do not attach any key creative with your application (including Producers, Directors, DOP’s, Writers, crew, etc).
