DOWN THE MIGHTY RIVER is a 6-part documentary series about the Rupert River on the last summer before it’s diverted for a hydroelectric project. The river’s story -- its people, land and wildlife, and the construction now changing it forever -- is seen through the eyes of Ernest Webb, who had witnessed the construction of the infamous James Bay Hydro Project in his community, thirty years earlier. This time around, Ernest finds the Cree ready to accept hydro development in return for jobs and compensation, even as unanswered questions remain about the cultural and environmental impact of this megaproject.
