Acquisitions and Factual Production Executive / Management

Having grown up in Tiohtià:ke/Montreal, Que., Amanda Feder currently lives in Ottawa, Ont., on the unceded, unsurrendered territory of the Anishinaabe Algonquin Nation. She moved in 2018 to join APTN’s programming department as acquisitions programming coordinator. Prior to joining APTN, she worked in film and television production on both scripted and unscripted series, as well as many award-winning documentaries.

In August 2022, Amanda became lead of special projects for APTN, a role in which she served as a logistical lead for special projects such as APTN Indigenous Day Live, APTN’s programming for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, and many more.

Amanda was promoted to acquisitions and factual production executive in 2023. In this position, she is responsible for all the network’s acquisitions of Canadian and international content for linear television. She also manages the commissioning of original feature documentaries. Amanda is passionate about using media as a tool to advance equity and inclusion, and she is honoured to continue working with, supporting and learning from so many talented Indigenous storytellers.
