Supporting Indigenous talent
APTN is committed to the professional development of its workforce. All employees receive support for ongoing training with up to $1,800 available for each employee per year.
The network supports First Nations, Inuit and Métis students who contribute to their community through their area of study by awarding six scholarships every year, each valued at $2,000.
Over 60% of APTN employees are of Indigenous ancestry and APTN is proud to foster a gender-balanced workforce.
Emphasizing practical experience
APTN is proud to play an important role in supporting the career development of Indigenous students. Our practical training opportunities help students on their road to successful careers in the world of TV broadcasting.
Our Internship Program and Work Experience Program placed six students over the fiscal year, helping them acquire valuable work experience.
We also employed four summer students via an internship or fellowship program.
