Development, Factual and Special Events Executive / Management

A proud member of Brokenhead Ojibway Nation, Crystal Dubois grew up between Winnipeg and St. Laurent, Man., and has called Calgary home for the past 16 years. 

Crystal’s background in television is diverse, spanning live events, lifestyle and reality programming, Indigenous storytelling and more. An alumna of SAIT’s Television Broadcast Program, she began her career as a producer in the documentary space, with a particular focus on true crime. Over time, she developed a strong specialization in archival research, rights management and clearances, becoming highly skilled at navigating the complex world of licensing and copyright. 

Crystal joined APTN in 2023 as the lead of special projects and has since managed programming such as Hockey Night in Canada in Cree and Inuktitut, Remembering the Children: National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and more. In 2025, she was promoted to the role of development, factual and special events executive. In this expanded role, she oversees the network’s factual slate, special events coverage and a growing portfolio of fresh, unfiltered reality and lifestyle programming that reflects the rich diversity of Indigenous experiences today. 

Known for her leadership and artistic vision, Crystal is always eager to connect with fellow creatives who share a passion for bold, meaningful and impactful storytelling.
