About Wild Rose Vets

Wild Rose Vets is a heartwarming and culturally unique documentary series that follows the busy daily lives of Indigenous veterinarians working, volunteering and exploring their heritage in different communities across Canada.

In Saskatoon, Dr. Allison Hay is finding her groove as a new clinic owner, not even five years after graduating from vet school. With over 20 years working with animals, Dr. Cori Stephen brings a caring confidence to her busy, rural practice just outside of Vanderhoof — the only clinic for 100 km in northern British Columbia. A mixed-animal practitioner from Elk Point, Dr. Dayle Poitras splits her time between treating animals, training the next generation of young vets at the local college and being on call at Indigenous horse relays.

These vets put their skills to the test every day as they showcase the human-animal bond and dedicate themselves to keeping animals healthy and happy. Wild Rose Vets delves not only into their professional journeys in veterinary medicine, but also into their personal explorations of Indigenous heritage and cultural identity.
